Big Brothers Big Sisters helps children of San Luis Obispo County reach their full potential through professionally supported one-to-one relationships. Big Brothers Big Sisters focuses on finding common interests between the participants, as well as keeping in mind convenience of location. This program is a donor and volunteer supported organization proven to help vulnerable children of single, low-income and/or incarcerated parents succeed.

Two programs:

(1) Community-based: children ages 5-15 are paired with adult mentors, commit to meeting 2-4 times a month with personalized outings they both enjoy such as sports, the beach, or music!

(2) School-based: elementary school kids paired with qualified high-school mentors, meet once a week at “Littles” school. Current schools participating: Pacheco, Del Mar, and Nipomo Elementary. Topics revolve around academic achievement, bullying, self-esteem and how to build healthy relationships.
