Established by San Luis Obispo County Drug and Alcohol Services in 1989, the North County Connection is a grass-roots driven family resource center, primarily staffed by dedicated volunteers. The center hosts many self help meetings, a walk-in and telephone referral service, a recovery oriented book, video, and audio lending library, and a safe, drug and alcohol free place for families, adults and youth to go to for support.

Center for Assessment, Referrals and Educational Services:
Paso CARES/North County SAFE Family Resource Center is a one-stop resource center where families can seek assistance to remove barriers that interfere with their student’s success. Barriers may include: school adjustment, substance abuse and/or domestic violence in the family, divorce, unemployment and other economic concerns.
A Paso CARES/North County SAFE Family Resource Center Family Advocate connects with students and their families, providing community and agency referrals to services that the family may need.
Paso CARES/North County SAFE Family Resource Center is part of a county agency and non-profit organization collaborative whose goal is to serve the families in their community.

Central Coast LINK, in cooperation with the Atascadero Unified School District, is a community and school based program designed to link families with community services.  The heart of the LINK program is the Family Advocate, connecting  families with community resources and providing in-home support.
