Los Osos Cares is hosting a support group for Grandparents Raising Grandchildren in Los Osos. The Facilitator is Branden Kay from Seneca Family Ties.

Are you caring for another relative’s child? Then join us at a Family Ties Support Group!! These groups offer a great opportunity to meet other kin caregivers, share ideas, and learn about the special needs and concerns that many kin caregivers share.

Kin Caregiver must live in SLO County and child’s primary residence is with the relative caregiver. Family Ties is a free, voluntary program.

Confidential and nonjudgmental pregnancy and parenting support. Free services include: pregnancy/parenting groups, prenatal vitamins, maternity and infant clothing, formula, diapers, infant equipment (cribs, etc.).

Caring for a loved one with a cognitive disorder or another disabling condition forever changes the lives of family and caregivers. There can be devastating effects on those providing long-term care at home: financial pressures, legal quandaries, health problems, and emotional turmoil. Coast Caregiver has resources and support groups that can assist families in their time of need. Support group meetings are held in a variety of venues in the Tri-Counties and offered at no charge. Caregiver Support Groups
The CAPSLO Parent Education Program provides the opportunity for parents who are referred to the program (through DSS) to learn better ideas, to hear suggestions and generate solutions in becoming an Active Parent, through in-home parent education. Parent Educators have been trained in the Active Parenting, Positive Discipline and Nurturing Families curriculum.
