Tecnicas afectivas para los padres de 1 a 4 Años De Edad. En Estos tres cursos usted aprenderá las actitudes y técnicas necesarias para el mejor desarrollo de los niños tales como: la importancia del auto‐estima de los padres, el valor intrinsico de nuestros niños y como facilitar su desarrollo personal, las etapas básicas del desarrollo desde el primer año hasta los cuatro años, el auto‐cuidado de los padres, métodos para crear un lazo entre padres e hijos, técnicas de disciplina sin violencia, técnicas de prevención (como por ejemplo crear un hogar a “prueba de niños”).

Love allows children to grow through their mistakes. Logic allows them to live with the consequences of their choices. Learn the Love and Logic process of discipline.
Call the Adult School at 549-1222 to register ($65.00 includes materials), parenting partners are an additional $30. Parents are strongly encouraged to provide their own childcare. If that’s not possible, the Adult School may provide a limited amount of affordable childcare.

PARENT LEADERSHIP TRAINING

The Coastal Unified School District is pleased to be offering a Parent Leadership Training to help parents understand how they can become more involved in the decisions that affect their families. The hope is that after completing this training parents will feel more comfortable to be involved in PTA, focus groups, steering committees, School Site Councils, and City Councils. This is a wonderful learning opportunity for parents and as an added bonus parents will receive a stipend. The classes will be presented in Spanish .
The classes will be held on Monday evenings from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm starting on February 27, 2012 and ending on May 7, 2012.

PARENT PARTICIPATION PROGRAM, SAN LUIS COASTAL ADULT SCHOOL

The goal of the Parent Participation Program is to enhance parenting skills through classroom discussion, interaction and observation. Parent and child attend class once a week and focus on the developmental stages of the child. Curriculum includes teacher-led discussions on parenting techniques and strategies for creating a healthy family environment. In class, parents share their challenges and successes while children enjoy age-appropriate play, circle time, and songs. Through interacting with other parents and children while participating in the classroom environment, parents gain a greater understanding of the needs and abilities of their children.

Parent Participation classes are taught by teachers holding California teaching credentials.
DATES: A year round program. Classes change quarterly. Parents may add a class at anytime on a space available basis
TIME: morning, afternoon and evening classes available
LOCATION: Classes available in San Luis Obispo, Los Osos and Morro Bay
TUITION: Prices vary. Core class is $64/10 weeks. Scholarships available for families in need.

PARENT PARTNERS-SUPPORT & RESOURCE SERVICES, CWS

Our vision for Parent Partners is to help families to build their strengths and utilize their resources. We are parents who have been in your situation, who want to offer our experience, provide ongoing support, share our knowledge, and connect you with community resources. A Parent Partner is available at no cost to any parent involved with San Luis Obispo County Child Welfare Services.

PARENTING THE INFANT, SLCUSD ADULT SCHOOL

Through discussion and guest speakers, this class provides parents with information about infant development, safety, nutrition and sleep habits. Class time includes songs, fingerplays, sign language and homemade toys. Expectant parents are also welcome.
Parent Participation classes are taught by teachers holding California teaching credentials.
DATES/TIMES: Ongoing 10-week classes. Parents may add a class at anytime on a space available basis.
Tuesday or Thursday in San Luis Obispo, Wednesday in Morro Bay, and Friday in Los Osos.

PARENTING THE PRESCHOOLER, SLCUSD ADULT SCHOOL

Parenting the Preschooler / Three year old / Four year old
Now we’re making friends! This class focuses on fostering learning experiences for the preschool child through art, sharing, songs, movement, play and discovery. Parent discussions include growth and development of the preschool child and positive discipline techniques.
Parent Participation classes are taught by teachers holding California teaching credentials.
DATES/TIMES: Ongoing 10-week classes. Parents may add a class at anytime on a space available basis. San Luis Obispo-Tuesday class (4yrs), Wednesday class (3yrs) or Thursday class (3 & 4yrs). Los Osos-Tuesday class (3 & 4yrs) and Morro Bay-Wednesday class (3 & 4yrs).

This class focuses on parenting more than one child. Parents learn to develop caring and harmonious relationships among family members through specific topic-related discussions and activities that foster sibling bonding.
