Youth Mental Health First Aid- Amy Waddle

Learn how to help an adolescent with mental health or addiction challenges or is in crisis. The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. Topics covered include anxiety, depression, substance use, disorders in which psychosis may occur, disruptive behavior disorders (including AD/HD), and eating disorders. For parents, family members, caregivers, teachers, school staff, peers, neighbors, health and human services workers, and other caring citizens.

Parenting Support Group- Gwendolyn Garcia
Starting in March Every other Thursday 10:30- 11:30 am
An ongoing support group to help parents learn parenting strategies, education, and have social connections.  This class focuses on the protective factors and parent education that parents need to be the best parents they want to be.  This class recognizes the strengths and builds on what is going right already.
